The Worth of a Challenge

If you give a child a fish, you feed him for a day.
If you teach a child to fish, you feed him for a lifetime.
But if you teach a child to learn, you feed him for a lifetime
and he doesn't have to just eat fish.

math fact mondays!

Math Facts Made Easy or Fun or Easy and Fun........or as my first grader says "No more flash cards, Mom!"

So in my quest to stay away from flash cards with out spending a bundle(which isn't hard to do at the learning store) this is what I have come up with:

The first is a piece of poster board numbered up to ten and then cards with all the possible equations created using fun stickers.....simply add and then put it in the right spot and there you have it, math facts with sums up to 10!

next is some fun card flip books where you have to flip for the right answer the one above has pictures, but some counters work for the one that doesn't. I found my books at Michael's craft store, but you could easily make your own out of a book of spiral bound index cards. The counters are from Lakeshore Learning, but you can use beans, macaroni, milk caps, buttons, etc.
